PCFC Board & Staff Strategic Planning Retreat

On November 22nd, the PCFC Board and staff gathered for a dynamic and productive two-year strategic planning retreat. With six staff and eleven Board members attending in person, and four additional participants joining online, the session encouraged focused collaboration, meaningful dialogue, and forward-looking thinking.

Through breakout discussions, participants examined priorities across PCFC’s four organizational pillars and explored opportunities to strengthen national impact. Key areas included staffing enhancements, growth of Support Groups, expanded fundraising and events, and enriched education, advocacy, and research initiatives. A summary of outcomes and next steps will be shared with the community in the New Year.

We are also pleased to congratulate Dr. Kishor Wasan, Chair of PCFC’s Scientific Committee, on his election as our newest National Board Member representing Saskatoon, SK.

About Dr. Wasan:

Dr. Kishor M. Wasan is a distinguished pharmaceutical scientist, educator, and research leader with deep expertise in drug delivery, neglected global diseases, and translational research. He has held senior academic and administrative roles across Canada, authored more than 600 publications and presentations, and is widely recognized for his commitment to advancing patient-centered research. His leadership and insight continue to play a vital role in guiding PCFC’s research direction.

We extend our sincere thanks to Board Member Jeff Morgan, Adera Development, and Terrapin Mortgage Investment Corp. for generously hosting the retreat. We are also grateful to Tim Hortons (West Cordova Street) and Chronic Taco (Waterfront Station) for providing and donating the refreshments that kept participants energized throughout the day.
