Elaine Redmond is from Cork, Ireland. She completed her medical school training at University College Cork and graduated from the Irish Urology Residency program in 2019. She recently completed a GURS accredited fellowship in reconstructive urology at the University of Alberta, Edmonton under the tutelage of Professor Keith Rourke. She has authored over twenty peer reviewed publications and is a reviewer for Irish and International medical journals.
Dr. Redmond was awarded an academic doctorate (M.D.) from the University of Limerick (2018) for research which examined the effect of bladder filling rate on the sensation of urgency. She also holds a Masters in Human Factors and Patient Safety from the Royal College of Surgeons Ireland (2014). She has received numerous awards and grants for her work including the Irish Society of Urology Research Medal (2013) and the Ainsworth Scholarship (2019).
She is excited to join the team at BC Children’s Hospital. She looks forward to establishing research collaborations and expanding her expertise in pediatric urology.
